We is seeking a biochemical/biophysical analytical scientist to join Analytical Department (AD). The scientists in AD develop and execute phase appropriate analytical strategies and methods, using state of the art technology, to enable gene and cell therapy product release as well as to expand knowledge of our process and products. The key responsibilities are to support process-related impurity characterization and support process development by development of biochemical analytics. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment and could lead project teams in the area of expertise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate process-related reagent and impurity bio-analytical characterization as well as process characterization for Cell Therapy Programs

  • Act as subject matter expert on chromatography-based methods (IEX, Affinity methods, RP) and methods to be developed that are phase/program specific

  • Develop, qualify, and apply biochemical analytical methods to better understand critical quality attributes of cell therapy components

  • Support process development characterization and validation of Cell Therapy Programs

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in Analytical Development and other departments to support CAR-T and Vector projects

  • Participate in appropriate regulatory filing activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • M.S. in analytical chemistry, protein biochemistry, chemical engineering or related sciences with 2+ years of relevant experience in industry; or B.S. in a relevant scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Proven academic and/or industry experiences in biochemical and biophysical analytical development

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong scientific drive and willingness to take initiative to gain new knowledge of raw materials and critical quality attributes in cell therapy and further develop expertise in the rapidly evolving gene and cellular therapy field.

  • Understanding of and experience using relevant software such as EMPOWER, Chemstation and relevant statistical software programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in biologics impurity analytical characterization and Scientific understanding of CAR-T and/or gene therapeutics

  • Experience in regulatory document authoring and filing

  • Experience in biochemical method development for mammalian genome engineering and CAR-T products, protein therapeutics, etc.

  • Experience using GC-FID to develop analytical methods for raw materials

  • Experience using Waters UPLC, Agilent HPLC, and other HPLC platforms

  • Experience in developing chromatography based analytical methods for recombinant proteins, viral vectors, or other biomolecules

  • Experience developing plate based detection methods ( ELISA , alphalisa, MSD)

  • Experience with qualifying and validating assays and an understanding of ICH/ FDA guidelines is preferred

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment, meet deadlines, prioritize work across multiple projects
