SUMMARYThe Senior R&D Engineer is responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role you will contribute to the development of circuit simulation tools. The Ansys Circuit tool includes multiple circuit solvers that are used by our customers for many applications in the areas of signal & power integrity, EMI/EMC, RF design, electrification and more. In this position you will apply advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives. The successful candidate will have a background in the research and development of state-of-the-art circuit simulation methods and experience in scientific software development.RESPONSIBILITIESParticipates in planning, architecture, and researchPerforms complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver researchEmploys best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoringPerforms complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutionsResearches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutionsWorks independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilitiesMay be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reportsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year experienceCommercial experience with the development of circuit simulation tools.Demonstrated experience with modern C++ and Agile development methodologies.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExcellent technical knowledge and experience with the development of SPICE-type circuit analysis methods.Experience using and parsing high level languages like Verilog-A, SPICE, etc..Expertise in numerical analysis.Experience with software configuration management, data structures and algorithms.Passion for crafting robust and efficient codeExperience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environmentUnderstanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domainGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed teamALIGNING YOUR VALUES TO OUR SOLUTIONS At Ansys, our diverse, collaborative teams give us the strength and insight to solve the world's most challenging engineering problems.
