This job contributes to REI’s success by developing, advancing, and facilitating the end-to-end commercialization launch process for new and priority products. The person in role is accountable for managing all aspects of small to large scale cross-functional projects, so that they are completed on time, within scope and within budget. The person in role is accountable for ensuring all project phases are completed, as well as communicating to key stakeholders the progress and performance against a project plan. They can resolve operational problems through collaboration with the project team in order to minimize delays. In addition, they are able to work autonomously, and serve as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience, while modeling and acting in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Develops and refines new product introduction process that aligns tasks and communication across divisions for internal and external brands

  • Collaborates with Merchandising Product, Inventory and Planning, Marketing, Digital Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, operational teams in Logistics, Fulfillment, and Retail Operations, and other divisions as needed to define launch success and then executes a project to achieve success

  • Drives process innovation, identified and effectively communicates areas of opportunity to streamline new product introduction process

  • Manages and ensures completion of end-to-end product introduction tasks across multiple REI divisions to ensure readiness for launch dates

  • Utilizes analytics and/or SAP to self-serve information on inventory, purchase orders, and item setup

  • Ensures project teams have clear goals, and milestones consistent with project priorities and financial goals

  • Ensures project schedule alignment between key cross-divisional operational tasks and IT system integration, and that the schedule is delivered against the desired business timeframe

  • Manages the progress of launch projects and communicates the project status to management and stakeholders on a regular basis

  • Provides project management documentation and reporting at appropriate stages of the projects, including, if applicable, project charter, work breakdown structure, project plan, project logs, status reports and lessons learned documentation

  • Ensures continual alignment between key cross divisional stakeholders

  • Provides process insight and guidance to cross divisional leaders on key business initiatives

  • Provides thought leadership to cross divisional partners regarding project direction and planning

  • Liaise with cross functional divisions and internal departments to drive process improvements

  • Drives change management for responsible areas

  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners and leadership to ensure continued engagement and understanding of key deliverables

  • Serve as a resource and mentor to peers and other project managers; continue to educate best practice of project management methodologies to peers, co-workers and leaders

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager concurrently managing multiple small to large cross-divisional projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodology

  • Intermediate knowledge of supply chain functions, planning functions, information technology systems, and implementation process

  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, Tableau and/or SAP to perform analytics and self- serve information.

  • Advanced Problem-solving skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establishfact and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple assignments

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to set clear goals, identify priorities, collaborate with business partners to streamline business and drive results

  • Purposefully participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business or equivalent degree

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

Pay Range

$83,700.00 - $134,000.00 per year
