This job contributes to Starbucks’s success by serving as the senior project manager for Business Operations in the Global Communications organization, which includes Corporate, International, and Partner (Internal) Communications, Starbucks Stories and newsroom, and a data and analytics team.

We are seeking a candidate who is comfortable and agile in managing a range of projects including but not limited to guiding processes for annual planning, sourcing, agency onboarding and support, serving as the primary liaison for finance and supporting overall budget management for the department, and partnering with the Global Comms leadership team to develop and calibrate department planning conversations.

This role will be reporting directly to the director of Business Operations and Planning, Global Communications, candidate is responsible for providing operational support and strategic guidance for the Global Communications organization and should have a track record of staying organized and disciplined in complex, fast-moving, and sometimes ambiguous business environments.

Reporting to the director of business operations in Corporate Affairs, as a senior project manager in Global Communications, you will :

  • Drive alignment around setting strategy, forming a plan with clear goals and asks, executing and monitoring progress.

  • Work hand in hand with colleagues on the Finance, PRO, Sourcing, and Legal teams to drive the enterprise rhythms of the business.

  • Be responsible for maintaining budget details for the Global Communications team – in coordination with leadership priorities and ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Manage agency relationships and continuously audit for compliance and contract updates as needed

  • Help prepare presentation materials and briefs for meetings.

  • Project manage tasks to ensure completion of action items.

  • Keep relevant team members informed and refine communications throughout ongoing projects.

  • Communicate priorities, activities, and results to the larger organization, while ensuring deliverables are met. Have a strong pulse and feedback loop on organizational needs.

  • Identify and take on ad-hoc strategic projects - everything from defining new opportunities to executing key initiatives and closing the gaps in business and operations.

  • Other strategic projects as defined by the Director of Business Operations, Corporate Affairs, and the GC leadership team.

  • Self-starter with excellent judgment and high integrity.

  • Skills in use and business computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND, or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
