Amazon Senior Program Manager, Just Walk Out Technology in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

"Just Walk Out" (JWO) is a new and innovative service at stores across stadiums, airports, convenience, and more! Just Walk Out technology allows shoppers to enter a store, grab whatever they want, and quickly get back to their day, without having to wait in a checkout line or stop at a cashier. Customers enter or exit the store with a payment method, bypassing a checkout-line. The technology uses camera vision and sensor fusion, or RFID technology which allows them to simply walk away with their items. By removing the checkout, retailers can increase merchandising space, move more customers through the store, and provide a frictionless shopping experience.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our JWO Supply Chain organization. JWO Supply Chain is a part of our larger JWO Supply Chain, Operations, & Technology (SCOT) organization. JWO Supply Chain is responsible for the operational fulfillment of planned site launch demand and unplanned demand for break-fix technical equipment. Our scope includes demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation. JWO Supply Chain Program Management team is focused on increasing operational excellence to meet the organization’s goals. The Program Management team partners and collaborates across all of JWO Supply Chain functional areas.

Key job responsibilities

  • Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives

  • Develop and refine program strategies, effectively leading and motivating teams

  • Set clear objectives for programs, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics

  • Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills

  • Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success

  • Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs

  • Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls

  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues

  • Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance

A day in the life

In this role, you will be an integral part in driving improvements across the Supply Chain team to meet the needs of the JWO business. You will be responsible for driving large-scale end-to-end process changes and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to improve performance across multiple operational programs. You will be responsible for briefing senior leaders on program performance across your assigned span of control, and providing expert guidance to operators and managers while managing the successful delivery of projects and goals. If you're excited to make important decisions and lead autonomously, this is the position for you.
