Nordstrom Senior Program Manager - Enterprise Insights - HYBRID in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

As retail is ever-changing and the challenges become more complex and cross-functional, Nordstrom has realized the need for a centralized team that partners closely with leaders across Business, Merchandising, Product Management, Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to deliver step changes in our results. Come join the Enterprise Operations team, which formed in April of 2023, and is focused on delivering enterprise-wide capabilities, plans, and data & insights, that advance Nordstrom’s top strategic priorities. This role will support the Enterprise Insights Clarity Program that aims to provide trusted insights from one source of truth for leaders to make timely decisions and execute effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the process to identify the business requirements that define our Enterprise metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will work with a cross-functional network including business, finance, and accounting SME's and leaders, product management, data science, and technology to identify an aligned-on definition of critical Enterprise insights and provide support throughout the governance process including adoption and activation of the insights for data-driven decision making.

A day in the life…

  • Establish a standardized and repeatable framework and playbook for aligning on the definition of enterprise metrics and KPIs.

  • Lead working sessions with subject matter experts and leaders across different domains and functions to determine business requirements for aligned definition attributes.

  • Synthesize input from working sessions into multi-use case options and present to KPI governance group made up of senior leaders for approval. This includes using your own experience and understanding to identify enhancements, gaps, and disconnects.

  • Communicate approved definition requirements to Clarity-process cross-functional partners for design and development discovery.

  • Bring complex definition requirements to life at varying levels of degree and audience in written and verbal form.

  • Serve as the Enterprise subject matter expert on the approved definition requirements.

  • Supplement other roles and responsibilities to deliver the Program’s initiatives, as needed.

The ideal candidate is motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented. This role will require a unique blend of strategic thinking, program and project management, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to take ownership and move with speed to help drive challenging, complex enterprise insights. The candidate will need to be comfortable working across stakeholder groups, including merchandising, technology, supply chain, stores, change management and communications. This position reports to the Director, Enterprise Insights.

You own this if you have...

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant Master’s degree a plus

  • 4+ years of experience in program management, product management, management consulting, corporate strategy, finance or merchandising operations

  • Foundational understanding of retail industry operational and financial metrics and KPIs.

  • Experience using operational and financial metrics/KPIs a plus.

  • Basic understanding of data governance practices.

  • Strong storytelling, recommendation development, presentation development, delivery skills, and facilitation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • A visionary and innovative mindset to facilitate north star discovery and going beyond “this is the way it’s always been” mindset.

  • Ability to gather input from a variety of perspectives and produce a solution that addresses the majority in order to obtain consensus.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with cross-functional partners across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to flex between details and big picture.

  • Ability to use multiple communication methods for gathering and aligning on requirements in lieu of short timelines and conflicting stakeholder schedules.

  • A curious and questioning mind.

  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $90,000 - $175,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
