Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking an unconventional, visionary, and driven Senior Technical Product Manager to drive adoption and community engagement of key AWS machine learning services and own the AWS Machine Learning Blog. Customers are rapidly adopting machine learning services built on AWS to make accurate predictions, get deeper insights into data, reduce operational overhead, and improve customer experiences. AWS helps at every stage of the ML adoption journey with the most comprehensive set of artificial intelligence and ML services, infrastructure, and implementation resources. As the owner of the AWS Machine Learning Blog, you’ll direct one of the most important communication and education channels for helping technical customers discover and use ML and AI services on AWS.

As a Product Manager, you are responsible for planning, creating, and delivering complex externally-facing technical content that drives engagement and champions customer needs. You are the voice of the customer. You are a key influencer in content and product strategy. You lead a community of brilliant contributors inside and outside of AWS to curate, shape, and promote high-value content.

You will:

  • Own the AWS Machine Learning Blog

  • Curate and write content at the highest quality that helps our customers learn how to build on AWS, and guides their plans for adoption and growth.

  • Work hand-in-glove with AWS service teams to provide perspective on behalf of the developer community to influence product direction, prioritize developer needs, and explore trends.

  • Engage with internal and external communities, actively participate in events and conferences, and act as a credible voice on social media channels.

  • Work backwards to shape the blog’s vision, strategy, tactics, and roadmap; communicate data and impact to AWS leadership; and work with leadership and stakeholders to expand the blog’s ability to solve customer problems.

You are deeply technical. You excel at clear, concise, accurate communication (both verbal and written) with audiences of varying technical abilities and business contexts. The blog has a very rapid cadence. To support this, you accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers and by escalating appropriately.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical experience in engineering, product management, developer advocacy or a similar role

  • 2+ years experience in a role which includes writing and speaking on technical topics

  • Strong knowledge and experience with cloud computing infrastructure, application development platforms, and popular programming languages

  • Strong demonstrated communication and presentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA and/or MS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field

  • Working knowledge and experience with social/online marketing coupled with prior experience in product definition and/or go-to-market strategies

  • Experience with ML services such as Amazon SageMaker

  • Experience with Machine and Deep Learning toolkits such as MXNet, TensorFlow, Caffe and Torch.

  • Experience developing ML models in real-world environments and integrating AI/ML and other AWS services into large-scale production applications

  • Project or product team leadership experience
