This person will work to improve the quality of the content that we deliver to our customers, ensuring a world-class reading experience and driving engagement with Kindle books. The ideal candidate will have an established track record developing customer experiences, strong analytical skills, excellent project management and business management skills. In this role, you will need to be an effective communicator and have the motivation to achieve results in an ambiguous space. This position requires someone who can think creatively about new opportunities in a fast-paced environment. Specific responsibilities include the following: * Lead the definition and creation of inventive business, product and customer experience concepts with the extended team of business managers, designers, technology managers, and cross-functional teams that will ultimately support the design (e.g. operations, customer service, etc.). * Write product/marketing requirements documents (which serve as a bridge from high-level business requirements to functional specifications) and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business, design and development teams. Requirements will be based on intimate knowledge of the product, space, data analysis, current customers and non-customers (prospects and competitors). * Establish the product mission, goals, and supporting business metrics and indicators for success. * Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and build great customer experiences while maximizing business benefit. * Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to customers. * Lead the development and implementation of tools and processes that will drive operational improvements. * Research and identify new opportunities for Amazon to further distinguish itself as the clear leader in world-class digital reading experiences. Basic Qualifications* 5+ years product development experience in consumer-focused technology companies. * Bachelor's degree is required. Preferred Qualifications* MBA degree. * Passion for books and reading. * Experience with SQL, Excel, Access and statistical tools. * Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements. * Ability to work successfully with and drive business, technical and operational teams across the organization. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to a variety of audiences. * A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects. * Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills. * Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities. * Must have bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
