We are seeking a Solution Architect (SA) leader for the Telco Specialist team who can help shape and deliver on our cloud strategy for our global telco customers and partners. As a SA leader, you will be on the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies, linking technology with measurable business value for organizations.

This specific role will be leading Solution Architects in the Enterprise Application Migration and Modernization portfolio of services including serverless, containers and native cloud migrations for the telecommunications industry.

Key job responsibilities

You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will be interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our services teams, marketing, and professional services teams, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Other Key Characteristics

You will educate, train, and enable cloud computing experts for a diverse and challenging set of Enterprise customers.

Strategically engage at the executive level both with customers and internal stakeholders.

Develop and execute against a fast moving strategy plan.

Hire, on-board, coach, and develop new Solution Architects from internal and external sources.

Develop mechanisms, and tools that enable fast engagement with customers and track key metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for your team.

Build and leverage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to further the adoption of AWS services in the market.

Lead a Customer Obsessed business that delights our customers and aids in their innovation.

Accelerate customer adoption through well-developed enablement engagements to achieve customer outcomes.

Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS SA community

Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices. Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.

This role includes up to 30% travel

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 10+ years’ experience leading high performance teams in a matrixed environment

  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience and managing solution architects

  • 7+ years of technology experience in Enterprise Application Migration and Modernization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Established track record of building rapport with customer executives (e.g. CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO), building close relationships, and closing large revenue accounts, ideally across multiple industries.

  • Experience in a heavily matrixed sales environment, including developing, implementing, managing, and executing cross-functional solutions.

  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including public and hybrid cloud platforms.

  • Technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS a plus. ·

  • Recognized industry expertise in primary discipline(s) with proven public speaking and media prowess.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $180,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $312,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
