The Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance team's charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. We are looking for a Senior Manager to own a portfolio of global safety and compliance programs

Job responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for setting the vision, direction and execution of key deliverables for safety and compliance

  • Define, implement, manage, execute, and update Operating Risk & Business Continuity strategy & program goals, inclusive of the development and reporting against metrics and key performance indicators, meant to assess program health and continuous program improvement.

  • Identify key risk areas , ascertain risk thresholds , review processes for its adequacy , engage with stakeholders to drive risk mitigation, monitor Key Risk Indicators and periodically report out risk performance.

  • Work with a wide range of cross-functional teams to conduct current controls and influence the technology and science teams to build scalable compliance systems.

  • Communicate regularly with leadership and ensure consistent reporting of business continuity risks and compliance against identified controls.

Key job responsibilities

-Manage a team of high performing risk managers

  • Identify and mitigate risk to Amazon customers at scale, designing new technical solutions to enable us to mitigate risk quickly

  • Use data to drive high judgement decisions on policies and risk solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 10+ years of people management and operations leadership experience in a fast paced operating environment.

  • Previous experience leading large teams to high levels of performance.

  • Experience Program/Project management skills necessary.

  • Previous experience of creating and contributing to strategic planning processes.

  • Strong ability to source and analyze data to drive business strategies and decisions.

  • Coaching and leadership skills that bring out the best of the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate degree (MBA, MS, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and analytical sills

  • Strong bias for action and "get it done" attitude

  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and a changing environment, as well as a rapid work pace.

  • A proven track record of being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects.

  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position

  • Experience with large scale e-commerce platforms including systems involving complex business logic

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to scope technical requirements and prioritize

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
