As a Senior Manager in Product Safety & Quality – Systems & Governance, you will manage a dynamic team of project management and systems professionals that support the broader Global Product Safety & Quality (GPSQ) organization to deliver projects, programs and technology solutions that enable effective and efficient management of product safety and quality risk.

As a Senior Manager, Product Safety , you will…

  • Implement project portfolio management – You will develop a project portfolio management process that bridges the gap between GPSQ strategy and implementation ensuring the right projects are prioritized to maximize investments, while delivering effective product safety and quality risk mitigation.

  • Develop and implement change management strategies – You will support the development and implementation of change management strategies that aid in the adoption and integration of new, large-scale business and technology initiatives.

  • Drive change through data analytics - Elevate the voice of the customer through complaint management, develop GPSQ measurable metrics and set goals with Starbucks Data Analytics Team, provide actionable and validated data to support the enterprise on its quality and food safety goals.

  • Solve complex problems through innovative solutions – You will utilize a solution-oriented mindset to proactively identify and address complex problems constructively through collaboration with stakeholders (IT, customer care, data analytics, etc.) and senior leaders to address emerging product safety and quality risk.

  • Directly and indirectly manage others – You will track progress towards goals and actively provide partners with coaching, feedback and mentorship to help enable their development and deliver on business priority initiatives.

  • · Refine the team’s strategic direction – You will help in co-creating and refining the strategic direction of the team through the facilitation of strategic workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicate decisions – You will be responsible for preparing clear and concise communication (verbal and written) utilizing storytelling techniques to cross functional stakeholders (IT, customer care, data analytics, etc.) and senior leaders to communicate risk and drive alignment on mitigation strategies.

We’d love to hear from people with:

Skills:

  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, food safety or public health.

  • 8 years of experience in management, coaching and mentoring of technical professionals and people managers.

  • 8 years of experience in managing large-scale business or technology projects and application of industry-based project management methodologies.

  • Leadership in portfolio management, process development and project management.

Education:

  • 4-year degree in related field (microbiology, food science, chemistry, etc.)

  • Food safety certifications, such as PCQI, CP-FS, REHS, HACCP, etc. – preferred

  • PMP certification – preferred

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
