REI Senior Manager of Product Mgmt - Omni Strategy/Order Management System in Seattle, Washington

Overview

This job contributes to REI success as a leadership role. The role is primarily responsible for creating the product vision and driving the development of strategic priorities for the Order, Availability, and Fulfillment platforms at REI. This person will lead a team of Product Managers. The Senior Manager of Product Management will leverage data, stakeholder input, and customer insights to set the north star strategy for all three platforms and align each product pods to the highest priority objectives at the Co-Op. This role will primarily interface with mid and senior leaders across the organization. This role has a major impact on the Co-Op’s success. The leader of this platform team will have the ability to influence the direction of the Co-Op due to the number of interfaces across the business. These interfaces include Digital, Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain, Payments, and Sales & Customer Support.

The candidate should be an experienced Platform Product Management Leader with proven track record of successful strategic technology enhancements in the Order Management and Supply Chain Order Fulfillment spaces. This role will require deep knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Omni-channel Fulfillment (Store Fulfillment and Direct to Consumer Fulfillment). Experience in Agile technology development methodology is required. Knowledge of digital customer experience and retail operations is beneficial. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate outcomes and strategies at both an executive and executional level.

Leading the Way (team leadership, coaching and development responsibilities for this “manager of staff”)

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods, and practices to promote REI key messages.

  • Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.

  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.

  • Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results.

  • Establishes and maintains visibility within the department.

  • Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances, and issues, and takes appropriate action.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Y our Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented)

  • Lead the OMS/Omni Strategy Product team to connect strategy with analytics and execution.

  • Guide the creation and execution of Order Management analytics roadmap, tools and capabilities.

  • Define creative, high quality, and simple product road-maps based on co-op, membership and team vision and strategies

  • Set environment for team to develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories to be used to create product specifications and architecture

  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs, including the opportunity backlog; a prioritized list of problems that we can solve for our customers in order to provide value

  • Is the central voice connecting all cross divisional partners with the Order Management Platform team to determine feasibility, viability and timing for new requested capabilities.

  • Lead the adoption of the product vision with key business and technical partners. Including leading the transition from Business Analysts to Product Managers.

  • Advocates, supports and contributes to ongoing transition to a Product Led way of working. Expected to lead, mentor and influence across other divisions and to model the way.

  • Work closely with engineering and project management to deliver products

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impede the team’s ability to meet goals

  • Represent the customer and engage with the business to ensure that business needs, viewpoints and objectives are translated into opportunity assessments

  • Work with the product management team to ensure that opportunities are assigned for product discovery by our product development teams

  • Work with stakeholders to quantify and articulate the value of these opportunities.

  • Articulate prioritization decisions to stakeholders

  • Communicate status and articulates prioritization decisions to stakeholders; being the voice of the team to stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years or equivalent experience managing medium to large projects with both a business and a technology focus.

  • 5+ years or equivalent experience leading product development and digital strategy.

  • 2+ years or equivalent experience leading analytics teams and building analytical roadmaps.

  • Demonstrated competency with new and emerging cross-channel and web-based technologies, web services, and back-end application infrastructure

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience.

  • Ability to build a strong customer-centric product vision, and create simple solutions to complex problems with competing priorities

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and building effective cross-functional partnerships with analytics, IT engineering, Design and Development teams to successfully deliver customer experiences

  • Builds capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts.

  • Product Led way of working as well as Agile/SCRUM team experience.

  • Experience developing customer fulfillment products.

Pay Range

$141,200.00 - $240,000.00 per year
