The Senior Manager of Network Strategy will be responsible for creating a Supply Chain network topology that achieves Customer Experience goals while delivering on the business fundamentals for managing the flow of inventory through the Supply Chain. The Senior Manager, Network Strategy is a key leader in the supply chain and plays a critical role 1) developing network strategies to deliver superior customer experience, service, and cost, 2) works hand in hand with analytics professionals and network modeling subject matter experts to develop robust models and optimizations, and 3) supports long range and operational planning horizons to ensure Nordstrom’s supply chain can meet the challenges of the customer in the future.

The Senior Manager, Network Strategy will translate mid to long term demand plans, sources of supply, and physical asset locations into flow plans and strategies that balance customer experience, service level, and cost. These plans range from multiyear capital and network plans to bi-annual operational flow plans. Working with teams across the organization, this individual will deliver innovations and modeling insights to create, evaluate, and deliver strategies to optimize the flow of goods from suppliers to customers across the globe.

The role is complex in that it requires an individual who can flex their focus from theoretical to operationally practical fluidly and is able to partner collaboratively with many teams (Merchandising, Inventory Deployment, Store Ops, Field Ops, Data Science, Technology, and Digital Ops) to align on trade-offs and paths forward. The role requires outstanding stakeholder management skills and a track record in delivering results across multiple VP orgs and geographies.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Drive the continuous optimization of end to end supply chain network across all business models (full price, off-price; online and stores )

  • Develop strategic frameworks for optimization of the network, facilities, product flow, inventory strategy, and transportation

  • Develop and deliver leading-edge concepts for optimizing the supply chain using mathematical techniques

  • Work across business leaders to prioritize and develop a deployment plan for the future network

  • Develop and execute an operating cadence that drives a culture of continuous optimization within the operations team

  • Build a network of internal and external stakeholders to seek out innovation and anticipate future business needs.

  • Develop strategy to align senior leaders in Supply Chain and outside of supply chain to the deployment of our network against our business strategy

  • Develop business cases base s for network strategy recommendations and establish routines to track execution against network strategy objectives

    YOU OWN THIS IF YOU HAVE…

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MS preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in one of the following: retail / e-commerce / modeling and analytics / transportation / supply chain

  • A demonstrated understanding of how analytics and business strategy work together to drive strategy

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, plan for success while being tenacious at mitigating failure, make decisions and drive, and above all, be a great partner.

  • Experience working directly analytics teams ; experience with network modeling software and techniques.

  • Demonstrated experience bringing large scale change opportunities to life through storytelling, fact-based orientation, and using advanced analytics to inform complex decision making

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to act as a change agent

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences and influence outside technical teams

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to influence through writing

  • Strong business acumen. Experience working with P&L data to drive bottom-line contributions to the business.

  • Extreme curiosity and appetite for learning and growth

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $126,500 - $210,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
