We are looking for an experienced IT Platform Engineer to join our expanding Enterprise Technical Services team who is highly motivated, team oriented, and committed to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and delivering quality products and services.

As part of the Cloud Platform Engineering team, the Senior Engineer II – Cloud isresponsible for building and delivering optimized, innovative cloud platform solutions at Weyerhaeuser.This role leverages continuous integration and delivery pipelines and other DevOps practices, along with scripting and automation to design, build, and deliver the infrastructure, tools, and frameworks that make up our cloud platforms.The Senior Engineer II – Cloud roleworks closelywith architects and other engineers on the Cloud Platform Engineering team to establish and apply best practices, and partners with app teams to drive adoption of modern cloud capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:** * Build and deliver cloud infrastructure, tools and services supporting Weyerhaeuser business capabilities. * Participate in the planning and execution of complicated technical projects that interact with a wide variety of teams. * Work closely with Cloud Architects and provide input to the design and optimization of cloud platforms and related tools. * Identify and implement technologies that improve efficiency, workflow, and risk mitigation. * Helps team leaders develop and maintain long-term target state architecture and roadmaps. * Collaborate with application teams and support their enablement on the cloud platforms. * Lead and/or participate on a team designing, developing, and testing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for IaaS and PaaS solutions for cloud platforms. * Support DevOps operations by integrating IaC into CI/CD pipeline builds. * Work with Azure DevOps, Git and associated workflows. * Assist IT and development teams with Cloud management tasks. * Rotating on call platform support. * Lead and mentor team members in best practices and procedures. * Maintain and ensure service-level and availability of Cloud Platforms. * Tier 3 support escalation for cloud platform operational issues. * Perform quarterly IT controls and governance tasks. * Maintain and update Procedures, IT Controls and Governance documentation. * Assist in driving Cloud and Application Modernization efforts. * Keeps abreast of evolving technologies and anticipate technological evolutions that could be leveraged to enhance the cloud platforms. * Follows architectural and technical standards and processes. * Analyzes and articulates business justification for emerging technology solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive, relevant information technology experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years as a Senior Cloud Engineer focusing on Azure.
  • Experience with Cloud Operations and Administrations.
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Design level thinking capable of presenting complex architectures in a meaningful way for clients not familiar with cloud.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills working across all IT teams.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical audiences.
  • Working knowledge of cloud, backup, storage, and server technologies.
  • Experience in monitoring, incident handling, troubleshooting, patching, day-to-day infrastructure administration, upgrades, installation of new systems, vulnerability remediation, and supporting process definition and implementation, and troubleshooting, cybersecurity.
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure; as well as the ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.
  • Actively works to learn new skills to stay current with changing technologies and industry trends.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office365 tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Teams and SharePoint.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Individuals with any of the following experiences/knowledge, in addition to the requirements stated above, will be considered stronger candidates:
  • Experience with coding/scripting technologies (Python, PowerShell, YAML, JSON)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab)
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Knowledge in agile/scrum methodologies, DevOps, and software development lifecycle.
  • Committed to current best practices, continuous deployment, 100% fault tolerance, high performance, infrastructure as code, and working in a Test Driven and DevOps organization.
  • Experience developing automation scripts and tasks to drive efficiencies.
  • Cloud Certifications or the desire to obtain them is a big plus.

Compensation:* * This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $111,457 - $167,319 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off:* * We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with three weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, as well as paid paternal leave for all full-time employees.
