Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Alexa Finance (Planning) - IPED (Insights, Planning, Econometrics, Decision) in Seattle, Washington

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member on the Alexa IPED team within Planning. The Alexa business is one of the fastest growing among Amazon’s portfolio of devices and this is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most innovative businesses at Amazon. Alexa’s Finance team is searching for a candidate who can thrive in ambiguity and who can actively contribute to our talented team.

This candidate will be highly analytical, detail oriented, and have a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision making in a rapidly evolving business. This role requires a self-starter with strong modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with senior executives, various business units, and multiple stakeholders across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work directly with leaders to identify growth opportunities for the Alexa business.

Key job responsibilities

  • Participating in short and long-term financial planning

  • Maintaining and tracking operating and business metrics

  • Building financial models for new business concepts

  • Developing scalable and efficient financial processes that support a rapidly growing business

  • Create new automation processes to streamline reporting

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
