The Boeing Company Senior Financial Accountant in Seattle, Washington

Our team is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for our finance operations and accounting team to manage the financial statement work. This Accounting level 4 will report to the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance and support the general manager of The Boeing Stores. This person will assume responsibility for The Boeing Stores’ financial statement completion and analysis along with accounting work-product quality, regulatory accounting policies, and deadline requirements.

The successful candidate supports BSI Accounting work-product quality, regulatory accounting policies and deadline requirements. Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) experience desired, as well familiarity with Boeing policies and procedures. This position will require non-standard work hours on the calendar month end to support the closing of the retail stores financial data and integration with our GL Great Plains system. The candidate will also perform accounting close and normal activities that are carried out in compliance of the regulations and policies as directed by SSG (Shared Services Group) monthly consolidation schedule.

Areas of coordination for the group include budgeting, labor charging, general ledger reconciliation, banking requirements, escheat, tax issues, capital asset, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing to external customers, month end and year end close, trial balance, balance sheet and income statement preparation, Great Plains (accounting system), and point-of-sale system integration or transactions, and purchasing.

Bachelor's and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years in Financial Accounting

  • 5 years in Microsoft Excel (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, linking worksheets

  • 5 years managing projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years working in EAS and Cognos

  • Masters in Business Administration degree

  • 3 years dealing with Inventory accounting and management, including costing and physical inventory controls

  • Currently a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • 3 years with retail accounting
