As the Senior Avionics Project Engineer within the New Shepard Crew Capsule team, you will apply your avionics hardware expertise, project management knowledge, and leadership skills to drive multiple projects involving capsule computing, power management, networking, and audio visual. You will be responsible for project development schedules, work breakdown, costs, and coordinate schedules to meet production needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for developing and managing multiple avionics hardware development projects. Interface with internal technical and project teams to provide program status, risks, and technical deliverables. Resource load, analyze, and optimize project schedule to meet required dates. Coordinate resource support plans with the production and engineering functional organizations. Generating time/resource estimates for tasks Plan to and maintain integrated budget forecast, as well as actual costs, and provided status including risks, variances and recovery plans to program management Displays strong ownership and accountability for the outcomes of avionics projects Required to take ownership of dependencies, including engineering deadlines; supply chain, procurement, and internal manufacturing; as necessary to support end item delivery schedule Build and utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the avionics field. Will be responsible for making technical decisions related to avionics projects Support Avionics HW system architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specifications, component selection, and roadmap development. Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management. Act as a resource for colleagues within in the team Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience of proven avionics development and project management experience. Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost. Experience with, and understanding of, safety-critical systems development (aerospace, medical, automotive). Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it Experience managing leaders and large teams of indirect staff; both exempt and non-exempt Extremely customer focused with strong communication skills.
