WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Senior Attorney will provide legal services on complex matters to advance organization-wide priorities and appropriately manage risk for assigned programs. They ensure that transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with our mission, authority, policies, and procedures. They will be responsible for providing legal advice and support regarding matters relating to all aspects of The Nature Conservancy's programs for assigned business units within the eastern United States. These matters include conservation real estate matters such as purchases and sales of fee interests and conservation easements, licenses, and leases. The Senior Attorney will also provide advice on non-real estate conservation projects, contracts, and grants as well as advice regarding intellectual property. The Senior Attorney will be responsible for interpreting and administering the organization's corporate policies and procedures as they apply to our work. The Senior attorney will have strong oral and written communication skills and a willingness to learn non-profit law. They will work as part of a team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff and will report to the Associate General Counsel responsible for the New York and Northeast Division States.
