Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Accounting Representative - Hybrid Remote in Seattle, Washington

Description The Senior Accounting Representative is responsible for accurately and timely posting of all third-party and patient payments. This position maintains consistent productivity and quality of work in a challenging, fast paced and rapidly changing environment. (This specific role will be a Remote/Hybrid within Washington State) Essential Functions: Review, investigate and reconcile deposits and supporting documentation to enable cash posting and resolution of complex cash posting issues. Investigate, research, and resolve outstanding deposits, reaching out to payers, specialist teams outside of revenue cycle, as well as finance, accounting and treasury. Partnering with finance, reimbursement, accounting, and treasury on GL mapping issues to identify correct treatment for cash in clearing accounts. Identify, escalate, and partner on resolutions for clearing account transmission issues to ensure documentation is provided to resolve unpasted deposits. Manage and maintain remittance work queues, to ensure supporting information flows timely, and to identify complex matters requiring resolution or escalation. GL account knowledge and accounting. Complex credit (or cash posting) transaction. Participate in month end closing. Acts as a resource for the members of the Cash Applications team and other teams in the CBS department. Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree or 3 years of Previous health care cash applications/payment posting experience. 3 years Previous health care cash applications/payment posting experience. Experience with processing remittance advices and payments, contractual adjustments, & denials for all FFS payers ( i.e. Regence, Premera, Aetna, Medicare, Medicaid,& other commercial insurances). Microsoft Word and Excel experience. Preferred Qualifications:. Billing, collection or cash application experience in a physician group practice. Why Join Providence?
