You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Senior Accountant ROLE Under general direction, applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and to prepare financial reports for multiple operating companies. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares and makes entries into accounting information systems. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and corresponding supporting documentation. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position. Reviews and verifies accounts and prepares account reconciliations. Designs and maintains reconciling schedules for balance sheets. Closes or directs others in closing month-end and year-end, including recording and/or reviewing journal entries. Prepare or monitor company's cash flow forecasts and manage weekly cash requirements Manage bank accounts, services and required forms on an as needed basis. Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues. Interprets and point out trends or deviations from standard. Updates accounting support schedules. Assists in year-end audit process. Interfaces with external and internal auditors. Develops non-standardized reports and statements as needed. Seeks process improvement and presents process improvement recommendations to Manager. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Four years related accounting experience or three years related experience in public accounting, including heavy GL reconciliation and month-end close processing experience. Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs in position related area, including detailed knowledge of accounting theory and practices. Current developments and trends in areas of expertise. Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and solid spreadsheet skills. Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems. High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred. CPA license preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. Skill and/or Ability to: Promotes the WASTE ZERO philosophy by making the best and highest use of all resources as well as finding ways to use waste products in ways that benefit the environment. Develops strategies to effectively manage current and future challenges and opportunities; develops recommendations and actionable plans.
