Splunk internal security Operations collaborates with other teams to execute on strategic plans and develop tactical execution methodologies which improve the “protect, detect, and respond” capabilities of Splunk’s Global Security Team. This operations position partners closely with Security Architecture, Security Engineering, and Corporate IT. Engineering and Operations areas supported include Splunk’s Cloud environments, IT, and other corporate functions. Security Operations is a core function within Splunk’s Cyber Security team and a critical indicator of success of the Engineering team is realized by the delivery of quality events to the Detection, Monitoring and Response Operations Teams. Responsibilities include Testing, Sustainment, Break/Fix, Patching, and Updating security solutions.
We provide operational support for groundbreaking security tools, as well as deploying and running services that make full use of both private and public cloud services. This security operations professional role supports implementation and ongoing support of high complexity systems to fulfill the business needs. As a member of the operations team, you will support the following areas:
Work on the team to provide security service maintenance, analysis, debugging, change control, support, information protection, system resiliency, and break fix.
Support other Security verticals executing the security roadmap based on the Splunk’s priorities and initiatives.
Maintain the engineering team’s ability to detect and respond to critical security service delivery issues.
Assist with technical evaluations to identify coverage gaps in existing information security toolsets.
Work on the team to support business owners with the deployment of security solution(s) that reduce risk.
You will be a part of the Splunk culture that delivers results in accordance with the highest standards in security operations.
We work with other Cyber Security teams to efficiently manage and develop security monitoring, related content, sensor enrichment, and tuning solutions.
Maintain operations Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements.
Maintain operational runbooks to deliver services.
BS Degree in CS, CE, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Possess the ability to accurately assess problems from multiple perspectives, analyze approach feasibility, and decide on the efficient course of action.
Collaboration when working on engineering’s goals and objectives.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Communicate data, facts, and analysis regarding operational delivery
Five or more years of operational or engineering experience in one (or more) of these areas: Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology, or IT support.
Understanding security technology’s role in ensuring compliance in both cloud provider and on-premise environments.
Nice to Haves:
Knowledge of SIEM and SOAR products, namely Splunk and Phantom
Operations experience in driving security and compliance initiatives
Understand GDPR regulations and the protections afforded customers and employees.
Project Management experience.
