Seattle Children’s Hospital Security Officer I, Research in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities The Security Officer I is the first line of safety and security at facilities staffed by the Seattle Children's Security Department. Security Officers in this role provide a physical presence at all public entrances and lobby areas to deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, and property by utilizing appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and/or non-violent crisis intervention methods. Security Officers in this position provide support for situations that include but are not limited to fire emergencies, hazardous spills, disaster response, medical emergencies, safety support, missing child, active shooter, bomb threats, individuals under distress or escalated, unauthorized persons entering the building with intentions to commit crimes such as vandalism, theft, and assault. Requirements Required Education/Experience: High School Diploma 2 years of experience in Customer Service or Security Services Required Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement) Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire Completion of Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire Preferred: Valid Washington State Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification Min to Max Hourly Salary$20. 50 - $30.76 /hrMin to Max Annual Salary$42,640.00 - $63,980.80 /yrSalary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
