About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer with a strong background in application security to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the security of our applications and infrastructure, manage security incidents, and develop and implement security policies and procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of security best practices and threat modeling and the ability to work closely with development and operations teams. What You Will Do Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation. Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of infrastructure and applications. Stay up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies. Implement and manage security tools for application scanning (e.g., static code analysis and dynamic application security testing). Work with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and secure CI/CD pipelines to facilitate safe code releases. Who You Are Experienced. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Skilled. 8+ years of experience as a security engineer. Analytical. Ability to analyze and respond to threat intelligence data with an understanding of threat intelligence platforms (TIP). Expert. Strong experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, application security testing tools, and mitigation techniques. Adept. Experience implementing SSL/TLS, PKI, and other cryptographic protocols. Detailed. Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell). Curious. Understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc. As well as cloud security best practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). And, knowledge of security architecture frameworks (SABSA, TOGAF). Resourceful. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc., and best security practices. Communicator. Ability to effectively communicate and work across variety of functions and will all levels with an organization. Certifications (Preferred, not required): Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) Salary Range $100,000 - $120,000 annually. The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
