Ford Motor Company Security Engineer in Seattle, Washington

The candidate for this role must be able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and drive consistency of purpose for a complex organization. Prior experience in driving cross functional teams in multifaceted technical and regulatory constrained environments is essential. The candidate will have demonstrated strong collaboration in delivering technical initiatives. Prior experience in embedded systems and associated Industries is an advantage.

What you'll do...

  • Partner to deliver against the technical vision, technical strategy, and KPIs for this function – time from development to deploy

  • Expand automation and tooling including design and vulnerability management

  • Implement, operate, and maintain critical security tooling (e.g. SAST, DAST, VMS, etc.)

  • Implement security checks into CI/CD pipelines in coordination with build team

  • Evaluate and support the hardening of build systems throughout the SDLC

  • Drive and support security best practices throughout the DevSecOps organization

  • Advance Ford’s security posture during all stages of the software development lifecycle

  • Identify opportunities for security process improvement across the organization

  • Ensure projects and roadmaps are progressed appropriately

You'll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science or a combination of equivalent experience and education

  • 3+ years of experience securing software development infrastructure, including experience hardening systems like GitHub, including GitHub Advanced Security, implementing security controls throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) , and mitigating vulnerabilities.

  • 3+ years of experience applying security principles to software development, with a focus on languages such as Node.js , C, Java, Go , and Python.

  • 3+ years experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, GitHub

  • 3 + years experience of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, k8s, GKE, etc.)

Even better, you may have...

  • Masters degree and/or certifications (e.g. CSSLP, CISM, CASP+, GIAC, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of security best practices covering above technologies

  • Knowledge of industry compliance standards (e.g. ISO27001, SOC2, etc)

  • Experience implementing DevSecOps for safety critical embedded systems.

  • Working knowledge of automotive regulations and standards (e.g. AUTOSAR, MISRA, R155, ISO 212434, etc.)

  • Demonstrated time in role working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency

  • Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve the desired results.
