The control plane team is primarily responsible for enabling a serverless experience for the new initiative, allowing them to focus less on database operation and more on creating business value. You will work closely with colleagues to deliver features spanning database management API's, microservices orchestration, auto-scaling, heat management, endpoint discovery, and failure recovery.

An ideal candidate is able to dive into complex problems, and is able to invent simple and elegant solutions for the same. They are able to design, implement and deliver cutting edge software systems that power QLDB. They thrive on creative and collaborative problem solving, and also enjoy the challenge of operating services at AWS scale.

  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.


  • 2+ years of software development experience

  • Experience building extremely high volume and highly scalable services

  • Experience building highly available systems and operating 24x7 services

  • Experience with distributed systems.

  • Experience with compute orchestrators, containers, hypervisors for database storage systems

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science
