Amazon Sales and Rights Director, Amazon Publishing in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon Publishing is hiring a Sales and Rights Director to lead its third party distribution sales as well as its international rights business. You will drive teams and co-agencies to increase rights deal generation for Amazon Publishing imprints based in 3 countries, while also managing existing and growing new retail relationships.

Key job responsibilities

You will design and implement strategies to provide a high-quality, growing sales and licensing service while delivering internal process improvements, making decisions on acquisitions, terms & licensing deals, advising stakeholders on rights and sales opportunities, and developing metrics reporting and business analysis mechanisms for the organization. You will represent Amazon globally, serving as the public spokesperson for sales and rights opportunities, maintaining and forging new relationships, working directly with Amazon Publishing authors and their agents on all sales and rights-related matters, and leading the team presence at international and domestic book fairs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders

  • 5+ years of team management experience

  • 10+ years’ experience managing and growing sales for organizations, with experience negotiating licensing deal terms.

  • Understanding of publishing industry best practices along with retail relationships

  • Experience working directly with customers and actively improving the customers’ experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results

  • Strong organizational and communications skills

  • Ability to create new workflows and processes

  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Salesforce

  • Background in the book publishing industry, media, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Publisher and SharePoint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
