Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a per-diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Women's Clinic. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Per-diem, 0% FTE

  • Day shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Women’s Clinic at Harborview provides family planning, infertility diagnosis and treatment, and pregnancy and gynecological care to women of all ages.

We work in teams that include doctors from the UW School of Medicine, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, residents (licensed physicians receiving advanced training), pharmacists, medical assistants, social workers, nutritionists, cultural case managers and interpreters.

Our prenatal care takes place at Harborview, and we deliver babies at UW Medical Center where our physicians are on staff. Maternity Support Services (MSS) and psychiatric consultations are also available at the Women's Clinic. In addition, we offer a full array of birth control options, including birth control pills and intrauterine devices.

The Women’s Clinic at Harborview provides services designed for the special needs of immigrants and refugees. We have Spanish-speaking providers and offer interpreter services for non-English speaking families as well as assistance dealing with health insurance paperwork and problems. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bring your compassionate experience and utilize the nursing process to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients/families

  • Make independent judgements/decisions and take action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations

  • Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care

  • Perform job duties in accordance with the values of Harborview Medical Center and the principles of quality improvement and patient safety REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active WA State or Multi-State RN License by start date

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience in an Ambulatory and/or In-patient Medical and/or Surgical

  • Must be willing to provide care to full population range to include Pediatric and OB/Gynecology populations
