UW Medical Center-Northwest - Orthopedic/Neurosurgery has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse .

WORK SCHEDULE

• Per diem schedule / variable hours per week

• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts

• Must be able to work both day shifts and night shifts

• Must be available to work at least 4 shifts every 4 weeks

• Must be available to work on weekends DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

• We are an inpatient 36-bed unit

• We support low acuity telemetry patients, general medical patients, and orthopedic surgery patients

• Common surgical procedures on our floor include knee, hip, and joint replacements, calcified bone treatments, neck surgeries, and laminectomies

• We consistently hold 1:4 and 1:5 nurse to patient ratios POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Join an acute care inpatient hospital unit

• Be part of a close-knit team where everyone’s contributions are recognized PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside physicians and surgeons in a medical-surgical hospital setting

• Perform musculoskeletal health exams

• Support pre-operative patients

• Administer and monitor pain medication

• Treat injuries with wound dressing or casting

• Help post-surgical patient increase their mobility

• Accurately document patient care outcomes in Epic REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year of acute inpatient hospital nursing experience

• BLS
