WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full Time / 100% FTE

  • Monday - Friday only

  • Must be able to work 8 hour and 10 hour shifts between 7:00am and 7:30pm. The exact start times may vary each week. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION 4S Outpatient Infusion is the largest infusion floor at the UW Medical Centers, offering 32 beds, specialized procedure recovery services, and infusion therapy for a broad spectrum of patients. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated outpatient team that always put their patients first. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screens patients for administration of medications via IV infusion

  • Uses critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety throughout the visit

  • Ensures patients who are presenting are able to tolerate their infusions

  • Places IV, assesses, and observes patients during infusions

  • Disconnects IV and monitors patients post infusion

  • Documents all above activities in the Electronic Medical Record

  • Provides education for patients and their families

  • Orients to procedure recoveries, plasma exchange, therapeutic phlebotomy and other procedures

  • Functions and contributes in a team-based nursing model REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of acute care hospital nursing experience

  • Strong IV skills

  • Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
