Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse with our Neuroscience & Transplant Progressive Care Unit at Virginia Mason Franciscan Healthyou will be a part of a team responsible for helping patients return to their highest level of functioning. You will find yourself working with patients whose diseases and conditions of the brain and neurovascular system impact the very essence of who they are and work with them to achieve optimum health and functional health status.

You’ll begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You will provide care for a highly acute patient population in a 3:1 ratio, including post-op craniotomies, complex spine surgeries, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, and kidney and pancreas transplants.

To thrive in this role, you will be highly skilled in delivery of care and also bring compassion to the care plan. You will also help to further our commitment to continuous improvement through our Virginia Mason Production System, and our philosophy of empowering you to facilitate real change in the delivery of care.

About Us: Virginia Mason Franciscan Healthis a 336 bed non-profit teaching facility providing quality health care to patients and communities in and around Seattle, Washington. Responsibilities include:

  • Provides high quality, skilled nursing services to assist patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status.

  • Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals

  • Prepare the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care

Qualifications

We are offering a generous sign-on bonus to new hires who meet the following eligibility requirements.

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing

  • A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License

  • CPR certification

  • One year Acute Care, or Medical Surgical experience

  • Transplant and/or Neurology & Neurosurgery experience preferred
