Amazon Risk Manager, Product Quality NA Regional in Seattle, Washington

Amazon's Perfect Order Experience team works to ensure that customers can buy with confidence on Amazon.com. We design and implement policies, tools and technology innovations to protect the buying experience on Amazon while minimizing friction for sellers.

We are looking for a Risk Manager with a passion for data and delivering results to discover and solve negative customer experiences. You will enjoy working with one of the richest data sets in the world, uncovering customer issues and developing innovative solutions while working across various teams within Amazon. You will possess the ability to see your insights drive the creation of real tools and features for our customers and thousands of merchants participating in our Marketplace on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader who obsesses over customers and empathizes with their pain of receiving sub-optimal products. They will be energized by working with cross-functional teams and have a proven track record of succeeding in ambiguous situations. They will use data to guide decisions and prioritization, and will deliver results that help customers and sellers. They will need to develop deep understanding of existing programs and policies and various Customer and Seller pain points to drive change and innovative strategies that strike the right balance between mitigating risk and improving partner experiences. These decisions must align with the overall organizational mental model and goals.

Key job responsibilities

This Risk Manager can expect to:

Understand Customer concerns and develop a good understanding of returns due to issues related to product quality.

Identify emerging trends affecting buyers and selling partners and develop mechanisms for continuous monitoring and improvements.

Develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders locally and around the world.

Dive deep into data to find patterns for the challenges that buyers face while shopping on Amazon.

Conceptualize and launch programs and initiatives to resolve buyer and seller issues.

Work with business stakeholders and tech teams to define needs, build solutions, and measure results.

Lead and manage day-to-day requirements for your vertical with internal teams and category stakeholders.

Report to stakeholders and internal partners on key metrics and performance indicators to measure overall performance.

About the team

This role is on the Product Quality NA Regional team. We are a collection of customer obsessed Risk Managers driven to improve the customer shopping experience in the US and CA.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
