Who We’re Looking For: RESTAURANT MANAGER FOR PINEAPPLE BISTRO AND BAR AT STAYPINEAPPLE THE MAXWELL HOTEL IN SEATTLE, WA. Amazing restaurants don’t get that way by chance—they all have dependable, disciplined, detail-oriented managers at the helm. Our Restaurant Manager is responsible for the management, direction and organization of all restaurant operations, right down to ensuring that the food and beverage quality and service maintains impeccable standards while maximizing profits. What You Bring: We’re looking for a fearless chief—one that takes a “lead by example” approach to creating a positive team culture. There are a lot of moving parts (and people) so your ability to organize and plan the efforts of an entire group is critical. Here are a few things of the things you can expect to do during a typical day: 1. Heading up restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, company policies and procedures, team member management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports. 2. Ensuring consistency with company SOPs including proper ordering, receiving, rotation and waste disposal. 3. Estimating food needs, placing orders with distributors, and scheduling the delivery of fresh food and supplies. 4. Ensuring that the restaurant department operates within budgetary parameters. 5. Adhering to company standards and servicing levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs. Where You’ve Been: We’re looking for someone with a 2-year degree from an accredited University in Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major. You also must have 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, bar or coffee shop. And naturally, a Food Handler’s Permit is a must. When You’re Here: This probably goes without saying but you’ll be on your feet a lot. There will be occasions when you may be carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending/twisting, climbing stairs and more. You also must be able to accommodate varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
