Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Associate I - Bench in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Research Associate who is interested in contributing to malaria research. The Technician will be primarily responsible for the production of Anopheles mosquitoes in our ACL-1 insectary, which is critical for the malaria research program at Seattle Children's. The Technician will be able to shape additional responsibilities of the job to their interest within an interdisciplinary research environment. Responsibilities for this position include: Perform manual maintenance and care of ACL-1 insectary for the ongoing production of mosquitoes for research purposes. Perform technical and manual procedures including: cycling of mosquito life stages, cleaning, autoclaving, parasite cycling, long term care of mosquitoes, and care of equipment and facility. This work requires some work with mice. Assist in the development of automation tools and/or other biomedical research work. Occasional weekend and holiday work is required. Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
