UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced part time (90% FTE, 36 hours per week), variable shift REGISTERED NURSE to join our Surgical Unit (Surgical 2 East). Our Surgical 2 East Unit performs minor inpatient surgeries. Common procedures performed on the unit include ligament replacements, day surgeries, and eye surgeries. Our unit is fast paced and we are proud to hold some of the highest admission-discharge-transfer (ADT) rates in our hospital. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic 16-bed unit that always puts their patients first. SCHEDULE The Registered Nurse will work 12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week. This position will work day, evening, and night shifts on a rotating basis. RESPONSIBILITIES The Registered Nurse will provide post-op and telemetry monitoring for patients receiving minor inpatient surgeries. As a Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively as part of a professional medical team that includes doctors, surgeons, social workers and care managers. You will work to restore the patients’ health by following evidence-based nursing practices and managing complex health issues that might arise during surgery. REQUIREMENTS


  • An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of current or recent inpatient nursing experience

  • BSN UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest.
