$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our Third Avenue Clinic. Utilizing the concepts of trauma informed care and harm reduction, we specialize in the care of patients living un-housed in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood.

WORK SCHEDULE: • Part-time, 50% FTE, 16-24 hours per week • M, W 8-1630, Every other Tuesday 8-1630

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Harborview Medical Center's Third Avenue Center/Downtown Programs are committed to closing the healthcare gap for individuals experiencing homelessness, underhoused, and low-income residents. We believe access to quality primary care is essential, and our clinics are conveniently located within the Belltown Neighborhood. We focus on building trust and providing holistic care through a trauma-informed and patient-centered approach. The primary site is at the Third Avenue Center but may require working in other sites in the Downtown Programs.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Coordinate complex care plans for diverse patients, advocating for their needs and well-being. • Provide walk-in and telephone triage in addition to comprehensive nursing care, including: o Advanced wound management and dressing techniques. o Medication management and patient education. o Provide medical support as part of a team for patients undergoing mental health and substance use challenges. o Perform blood draws, point of care testing, vitals, and immunizations. • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, community partners, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. • Champion health equity and social justice through patient interactions and advocacy. • Uphold trauma-informed and harm reduction principles in all aspects of your work.

REQUIREMENTS: • Washington State RN license required by start date (active and unencumbered). • Minimum 2 years of acute or ambulatory care experience. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations, including patients with mental health and substance use disorders, and understanding their unique challenges.
