University of Washington Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a per-diem Registered Nurse to join our Heart Institute's Cardiology Clinic. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Part-time, 0% FTE

  • Day Shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Located in north Seattle, Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Northwest provides a wide range of cardiac services, including early prevention, risk assessment and acute and chronic disease management.Our specialists are experienced in handling cardiovascular problems including hyperlipidemia, coronary and peripheral vascular disease, valvular and structural heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias and heart failure. Services offered include ECGs, heart catheterization and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, arrhythmia management, stress testing, echocardiography, anticoagulation services and cardiac rehabilitation. Advanced cardiology services are available at UW Medical Center – Montlake. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expert nursing care

  • Phone triage

  • Care coordination

  • Patient education and teaching

  • IV skills

  • SETT monitoring

  • ECG analysis

  • Monitoring and checking defibrillators and similar equipment

  • May also supervise stress tests, and support imaging by administering Definity, and performing Bubble studies. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of current/recent cardiac related nursing experience

  • BLS Certification; ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire

  • Working knowledge of Universal Precautions
