UW Medical Center – Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a per diem (0% FTE, variable hours per week), day shift REGISTERED NURSE to join our Eastside Specialty Center, located in Bellevue. Our Eastside Specialty Center is a specialty ambulatory clinic with over 20 practice areas. This position will specifically support our endoscopy and colonoscopy units, providing direct and indirect patient care. SCHEDULE: The Registered Nurse will work 8 hours per day, variable days per week, weekdays only. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Registered Nurse will assist providers during endoscopic and hemodynamic procedures and will provide patient care before, during, and after conscious sedation. The Registered Nurse will educate patients, administer medication, use and maintain endoscopic equipment, and help manage emergencies and complications. The Registered Nurse will also promote efficient patient flow throughout the unit by assisting with patient admission, phone triage, and and record keeping. REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of current/recent medical-surgical or endoscopic nursing experience

  • BLS

  • Expert IV skills

  • Expert patient assessment, communication, and patient relations skills LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous ICU, PACU, procedure, or conscious sedation experience UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest.
