UW Continuum College has an outstanding opportunity for a Recruiter on our Human Resources team. The Recruiter will report to the HR Manager for Continuum College. The Recruiter is a subject-matter expert responsible for improving recruiting efforts throughout Continuum. Success in this role requires the ability to:

  • Work with hiring managers and HR team to understand hiring (and recruiting) process for UW and specifically Continuum College.

  • Lead team and org on best practices regarding job postings

  • Find, subscribe, participate in, and utilize several job boards to post our open roles on a regular basis

  • Manage diversity job board budget for HR team

  • Be main Point of Contact for HR Managers and Candidates in regards to how and where to apply for our open roles

  • Offer to hold phone screens for Hiring Managers

  • Lead the resume redacting process and ensure fair recruiting practices are happening

  • Increase efforts to recruit and retain underrepresented populations in Higher Ed/Continuing Education such as women, first-generation, and minority groups

  • Partner with HR Manager to organize, and facilitate regular recruiting events (both in person and virtual)

  • Partner with Scholarship team on ways to improve recruitment and visibility on their scholarships

  • Attend external recruitment events

  • Host online and in-person information sessions

  • Join/lead intake meetings with Hiring Managers once new role is identified. Recommend and identify job boards, for roles to be posted on

  • Maintain Job board tracking, and accounts and actively manage postings.

  • Assist with notifying candidates of status.

  • Build relationships with UW affinity groups to extend continuum Colleges reach. HR:

  • Report to HR Manager and partner with HR team in order to…

  • Weigh in on Job Descriptions to ensure transparency, inclusion, and accurate representation of roles -Be able to speak to job descriptions with knowledge of how they fit into the organization

  • Develop relationships with the UW community as well as local Puget Sound community in related disciplines.

  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with key leaders in the department; attend departmental staff and other meetings as requested to acquire substantial knowledge about the department's business objectives, goals, operations and work culture.

  • Provide a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers and departments in comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes

  • Take part in DEI subcommittee dedicated to hiring and retention. Administrative:

  • Maintain recruiting records from all hires

  • Build relationship with Records retention team to ensure all proper documentation is collected and stored appropriately.

  • Follow up with hiring managers to collect all interview notes once hiring decision is made. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or HR, with 2-3 years direct recruiting exp OR equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience working closely with hiring managers on recruiting and other HR issues in a dynamic and diverse environment. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to include proven presentation and negotiation skills. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher Education experience
