Position: Quality Control Specialist Reports to: Chief Chemist Shift: Monday-Friday, OR Tuesday-Friday and Sunday Wage Scale: $36.12- $43.18 w/ potential for overtime Note: The wage scale for the position is the full wage scale an individual can make based on performance, experience, and seniority throughout their time at the company. What you'll be contributing: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, assures the quality of all products made at the plant. Conducts laboratory tests to ensure that products meet specifications (i.e., ASTM, AASHTO). Performs both chemical and physical tests on cement, clinker and raw materials to determine their quality. Complies with all applicable safety regulations.

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Performs necessary laboratory tests on raw materials, clinker and cement to ensure quality. Tests performed include wet chemical analysis, x-ray analysis and/or physical testing.
  • Prepares samples as needed for chemical and physical testing.
  • Operates, calibrates and performs minor repairs to laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains laboratory inventory of chemical solutions.
  • Maintains logs and quality analysis reports.
  • Assists chief chemist with the daily quality control of plant operations.
  • Works combined chemical/physical testing on weekends to provide quality assurance.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

ISO 14001 TRAINING PLAN The Quality Control Specialist must become familiar with the ISO 14001 requirements. To succeed in this position, you will need:

High school graduation or equivalent is required.

Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

Willingness to learn, training will be provided

Associate's degree or equivalent with emphasis in laboratory science preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience performing related chemical and physical tests is a plus.

Knowledge of chemical testing including wet chemical and x-ray analysis and physical testing procedures
