Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and recording room temperatures, performing fat analysis of ground beef, and verifying daily scales. Additional duties include performing routine quality checks on in-process and finished products, assisting with pre-operational and operational checks, and supporting the FSQA Manager with the development and maintenance of the SQF System. This role ensures food safety and quality by taking appropriate corrective actions and supporting new product development.
Responsibilities
Monitor and record room temperatures
Monitor and record fat analysis of ground beef
Perform daily scale verification
Monitor butcher and grind metal checks
Perform routine quality checks on in-process and finished products
Assist with pre-operational and operational checks
Assist FSQA Manager with the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System
Report any potential food safety and/or quality issues to management immediately
Take appropriate corrective action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System
Initiate and release product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysis
Complete all relevant food safety training including HACCP, internal Auditing, and SQF training courses
Implement and maintain HACCP based food safety plans
Ensure all documents are controlled and records are kept
Support operations with new product development and realization
Conduct regular quality inspections of products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and coordinate measuring machines
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an added advantage
Previous experience in food safety or quality control is preferred, but not required
HACCP certification is a plus
Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
The role operates in both a laboratory and an active food manufacturing facility, including temperature-controlled environments. This position offers the opportunity to expand and grow within the team, with potential for early conversion based on fit and experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
