Responsible for utilizing Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) methodology to identify, synthesize, and present available science in the medical literature that delivers the most effective and highest quality patient outcomes. EBM is defined as the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients. Collaborates with the clinical teams and clinical content experts, to create, review, update and standardize external evidence with individual clinical expertise and patient preferences to deliver the most effective, high quality health care to patients at Seattle Children’s. Champions Seattle Children’s, Center for Quality and Patient Safety, and the Quality and Clinical Effectiveness department initiatives by cultivating a culture of continuous clinical quality improvement, advancing improvement science knowledge, and encouraging improvement science scholarship.
Advanced degree in health-care related field, for example, MPH, MD, RN PharmD, MD,PhD, or a minimum of 5 years experience working in a health-care related field.
Minimum 3 years critically appraising medical literature
Expertise in GRADE critical appraisal methodology (McMaster University)
Training or special qualification in EBM or translational research
Training or experience in clinical quality improvement science
Experience with DistillerSR, Reference Manager (EndNote), and Microsoft Office software
This role is 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week); actual work days/times to be discussed and approved by manager
This role will require a combination of remote (60%) and onsite work (40%).
