The UWMedicine – Information Technology Services (ITS) Finance team has an outstanding job opportunity for a Purchasing Compliance Specialist position.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Opportunity to, under general direction, work independently processing activities in areas of purchasing, travel, and expense reimbursement. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine’s Finance department is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medical Center (UWMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), Airlift Northwest (ALNW), and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC). The Information Technology Services (ITS) department is supported by UW Medicine Finance for various functions. ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all of these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission. In order to provide necessary services, the ITS department includes many different teams that provide a wide variety of services. These services include diverse activities such as technology development, clinical research management, teaching and curriculum development (for multi-disciplinary staff, faculty, and clinicians.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage effective utilization of new and existing procurement systems through excellent customer service

  • Review ITS card activity

  • Travel compliance

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate training of procurement and travel for ITS

  • Design, create and edit instructional materials and supporting documentation

  • Maintain and update web content on ITS Finance intranet REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a Related field.

  • Minimum two to three years’ experience in Supplier management, sourcing, procurement, and fiscal experience.

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently under deadline pressure and changing priorities in a high volume setting including fiscal year close.

  • Experience following established guidelines and policies when making decisions.

  • Demonstrated sound judgment in making decisions when there is no precedent/guideline; considering problems from all perspectives, and thoughtfully and responsibly consider all relevant impacts and implications before making a decision. Experience making effective and timely decisions, with limited data and guidance from others.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to work effectively with staff and department leaders.

  • Excellent computational and computer experience with programs such as Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat (forms, PDF & scanning).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with exceptional organizational, planning, time management skills, initiative and attention to detail.
