Proactively engaging a global field community of Partner Development Managers as well as strategically aligned System Integrators, Independent Software Vendors, Distributors & Strategic Solution Providers ensures we maintain a Day One mentality of a start-up and deliver on our customer’s expectations.

As a Field & Executive Engagement Leader you’ll build and expand our most strategic relationships through increasing sales, alignment and engagement. Additionally, you will innovate and partner with other internal organizations to continuously improve customer/partner experience and profitability. You will be responsible for the executive engagement across a manager partner portfolio, advance executive interaction, engagement and strengthening new relationships on behalf of the WWPS business. You will also build strong relationships with internal Amazon partners through clear articulation of the business value proposition, looking for opportunities to surprise and delight our clients and end customer.

Critical in this role will be leading indirectly a global community of Public Sector Partner Account Managers (PAMs). These Field Team members proactively are engaging with local partners to exceed the expectations of our customers. Ensuring goal alignment, training, communications, career advancement, role definitions and more will ensure AWS Public Sector PAMs are best set up for success engaging their local partner community. They will champion across multiple key regional stakeholders around the globe and key vertical stakeholders in seven primary verticals (Government, State/Local Government & Education, Healthcare, Nonprofits, Startups & Space) to drive community success and execution at a local level of new channel programs, features and funding efforts. This is a leadership role, one with frequent external and internal engagement and must show strong people management skills, good judgement and executive presence.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with recognized expertise in driving partner strategy and field execution via a community effort. A deep understanding of how the partner ecosystem works (for all partner types) is a key. Outstanding executive communication, organization and people management skills are required to achieve success.

Position available in Seattle or Washington, DC. Open to working virtually within the US, but close to a major city given 30% expected travel.

Key job responsibilities

• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.

• Clear understanding and experience of conducting business in the Public Sector vertical.

• Proven experience with building and running Partner Field Initiatives. .

• Experience engaging and influencing senior executives and strong familiarity with decision-making processes in a complex, matrix environment.

• 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience.

• 6+ years of professional or military experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 6+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

  • MBA or advanced degree.

  • Experience working with AWS partners and partners in general through account management, product management, program management and/or business development engagement.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to manage through influence across internal and external organizations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
