Blue Origin LLC Propulsion Engineer II - Valves and Mechanisms in Seattle, Washington

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will design and develop valves and mechanisms that control rocket engines! You will be part of the entire process for component development including requirement definition, design, development testing, qualification, manufacturing and sustained product support. You'll be the design authority working with colleagues at multiple sites including Kent, WA and Huntsville, AL. We're looking for people that are curious about all aspects of engineering and willing to be hands on for assembly and test whilst working closely with shop floor personnel. Mechanical aptitude is a must and shop floor experience is beneficial. Experience with programming for data analysis is also helpful but not required. You will be reporting directly to a valves and mechanisms manager within the Engines business unit. B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired) or equivalent experience 2+ years of professional engineering experience Computer aided design (CAD) experience Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Advanced degree in engineering discipline Experience with component fabrication (mill, lathe, CNC, welding etc...) Strong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis Experience with cryogenic valves; hot gas turbine bypass valves; ancillary pneumatic valves for propellants, pneumatics, and hydraulics; TVC actuators; and related hardware Liquid rocket or jet engine development experience working with pressurized fluid components Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10 Familiarity with data analysis and data processing Experience with programming (i.e. Python) Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $89,820-$125,748 Other site ranges may differ Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
