The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-Time Promoting First Relationships Lead Trainer to join their team.
This position has primary responsibility for training a diverse population of community providers and providing ongoing consultation as a Promoting First Relationships (PFR) Master Trainer in order to maintain fidelity and adherence to the PFR program, an evidence-based curriculum in the field of infant and early childhood mental health.
The Part-Time, 50% FTE PFR Lead Trainer position provides training in Promoting First Relationships at levels I, II, and III of the evidenced-based Promoting First Relationships curriculum. Training is delivered to community providers who work with children under the age of five and their families.
This position is responsible for providing training and support to providers in the PFR model, following the outlined training description. This position provides weekly mentoring/training sessions to 12 to 18 learners at any one time. The position also assesses fidelity to the model and provides monthly reflective consultation to PFR providers to support them in their work. This position assists in program improvement and curriculum development.
This position is also responsible for teaching the Promoting First Relationships level 1 workshop, which can be delivered virtually or in person, in a group/classroom format. These workshops occur approximately 6-10 times per year with between 25-35 participants per workshop. This position requires experience teaching in a group and/or classroom setting. The position may train other PCRP programs as needed.
This position requires subject matter expertise in the Promoting First Relationships program. This position works with a diverse population of providers, managing time commitments across multiple responsibilities and projects. Requires multiple skill sets such as the ability to teach, train, manage multiple priorities, engage in written and verbal communication, and adhere to requirements specified by both community clients and the UW.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility for training a diverse population of community providers in the evidence based infant and early childhood mental health Promoting First Relationships program. (65%)
Assures program fidelity by regularly assessing providers that have been trained in the PFR model and providing remediation if necessary. (10%)
Provides PFR group reflective consultation to community providers. (10%)
Utilizes subject matter expertise in infant and early childhood mental health knowledge to support curriculum development and program improvements. (5%)
Provides timely written and verbal communication with providers and colleagues, and keeps all tracking databases updated. (10%)Lead Responsibilities
Proficiency to train Promoting First Relationships and other PCRP programs as needed.
Mentor learners and instructors and provide technical support. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or allied fields AND 3 years experience delivering and/or training the Promoting First Relationships program. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Subject Matter Expertise in the Promoting First Relationships program, demonstrated through high fidelity to the model and completion of PFR levels 1, 2 and 3.
Teaching experience in classroom/group settings and individualized mentoring.
Knowledge of other PCRP tools and programs (PCI, Keys to Infant Caregiving, BabyCues, etc.)
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or allied fields.
4+ years experience delivering and/or training the Promoting First Relationships program.
Training in infant and early childhood mental health.
