Project Manager

job summary:

A Project Manager is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Seattle, WA area. Client Optical Communication's Project Services group needs a Project Manager to join their national team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and tactical support for major customers in the Pacific Northwest.

responsibilities:

  • Read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) NDS and CAD designs

  • Working understanding of fiber optic architectures

  • Communicate and follow up with customers' requests as required about specific projects

  • Process invoices for customers and/or vendors based on services rendered

  • Track and report on material status for projects

  • Assist with creating written estimates for customers based on engineering, labor, and materials

  • As needed support project manager to visit project sites to evaluate progress and respond to customers' concerns or questions

  • Communicate with site superintendents about delays and any other issues that must be communicated to clients

  • Assist with updating project data in various systems

  • Create reporting and tracking spreadsheets for projects

  • Organize & Communicate project schedules and timelines

Required Skills:

  • Associate Degree or higher required

  • Project Management - 2 + years

  • Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required

  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook

  • strong organizational skills

  • strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to handle rapidly changing priorities

  • Attention to detail with focus on error-free work

  • Works well in team environment and with peers - team player

  • Result-oriented and responsive; utilizes network, SME's and other available resources to facilitate driving tasks to closure.

  • Working knowledge of fiber optic testing procedures

  • Familiarization/working knowledge with Lumen (Centurylink) software, FireWorks, WFMT, TIRKS, NDS, Quantum Fiber, OSPFM, MARTENS, NIESL and Bidmaster.

  • Familiarization/working knowledge with Frontiers FROGS and Varasset platforms

  • 100% fluent in English

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Procore project management software

  • Experience in the construction industry

  • Superior administrative and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated record of delivering high quality results, resume

  • Knowledge of building/reading splice plans.

  • Knowledge/experience with field/site walkouts.

  • Hands-on experience splicing and testing fiber optic networks

  • Experience providing hands-on instruction in either a field or classroom environment

  • Experience with "underground" construction. Trenching, plowing, and boring.

  • Understanding of RUS (Rural Utility Service)
