BHC Consultants, LLC Project Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Project Engineer

Prepare water, wastewater, and surface water utility studies, engineering reports, and comprehensive water, wastewater, and surface water plans for engineering projects. Evaluate, select, and apply standard civil engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to develop solutions and designs to various utility related projects. Coordinate and develop technical plans, specifications and cost estimates for water, wastewater, and surface water utility treatment, pumping, storage, and pipeline facilities. Develop expertise in the use of engineering software modeling and analysis tools. Conduct research on utility infrastructure and treatment technologies and products used in water, wastewater, and surface water facilities. Perform technology pilot testing, construction observation, facility evaluations and condition assessments. Manage tasks and projects including contracts budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client coordination. Identify and market new clients and project opportunities. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted, up to 95% on a monthly basis; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company's office in Seattle, Washington. Position requires occasional travel to client offices and to project sites within Washington state.

Requires a Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and one year of experience in: coordinating with the project team including the field survey team, design team (CAD), construction team, and asset management team, local jurisdictions, contractors, design consultants and other stakeholders to manage capital projects; assisting the Project Manager or Senior Engineer in conducting site visits, field inspections, and on all phases from project inception through project close out, including planning, budgeting, design, procurement, permitting, construction, contract administration, and final acceptance; preparing cost estimates and developing technical plans, specifications and construction contract documents for capital projects; preparing and reviewing environmental permit applications and review consultant plans and specifications to ensure conformity to the design specifications and requirements; reviewing material submittals, erosion and sediment control plans for construction of capital projects, and inspecting construction project sites to monitor construction progress and ensure conformance with design specifications and safety standards; and operating the asset management database and geographical information system (GIS) and using engineering software modeling and analysis tools.

Salary Range: $111,280 -- $120,000 per year.
