UW Continuum College (UWC²) has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Manager to join the Academic Programs (AP) team! The Program Manager manages, implements, maintains, expands, delivers, evaluates, and revises a portfolio of high-quality, university-level non-credit educational programs (see www.pce.uw.edu). The Program Manager manages all aspects of their portfolio of programs: from recruiting and working with advisory boards to ensuring program curricula and format is closely aligned to market demand, hiring and supervising program instructional teams, ensuring each program meets academic quality targets, and full program budget management and oversight. This work entails close collaboration with external subject matter experts and internal partners including learning design, marketing, operations, HR, and IT. This position provides an opportunity to work in a high-impact organization that operates primarily from funds generated by user fees; emphasizing both high-quality educational experiences and fiscal sustainability. PROGRAM PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION

  • Manage, deliver, evaluate, and revise a portfolio of high-quality non-credit educational programs in a variety of formats including classroom, blended, and online (excluding self-paced online)

  • Determine optimum program format: certificate, traditional length course, short course, conference, online learning, etc.

  • Update program learning objectives in response to changing market needs and conduct regular strategic program planning for the next 1-3 years in collaboration with advisory boards, instructors, and internal staff

  • Research data, examine the environment, survey students and instructors to understand issues, and propose solutions for programs that are struggling SUPERVISION

  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, and evaluate up to 30 contracted instructors, developers, and other instructional team members for portfolio of certificates and courses

  • Primarily use existing training materials to onboard and coach instructional team members and work closely with UWC² Learning Experience Instructor Development team to ensure instructors receive ongoing training and support for all program formats FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and manage annual program budgets that total of roughly $500,000, set instructor compensation within established guidelines, and make responsible fiscal decisions that balance goals of maximizing program value to students, optimizing enrollments, and minimizing financial risk to UWC² RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Recruit and engage with 25-50 advisory board members composed of external industry professionals to support programs

  • Actively network and participate in professional communities of practice within the scope of the assigned portfolio to build relationships that contribute to program growth

  • Work cross-functionally within UWC² to implement program logistics, instructor hiring, program promotion, and improvements to the student experience NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION OF EXISTING OFFERINGS

  • Plan and manage curriculum revision projects that involve a variety of stakeholders including contracted content developers and instructors, advisory board members, learning designers, videographers, and operational staff

  • Expand existing offerings to meet market demand as needed

  • Contribute new program development ideas and subject matter expert connections to the Professional Programs team MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in management, education, law, or technology, or related field, AND 3 years of experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with program development, project management, program management, leadership, teaching, or related

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • The ability to work in a professional manner as both a self-starter and a team member Desired The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following

  • Experience managing multiple programs with demonstrated success in program planning, administration, meeting facilitation, and budgeting

  • Experience in educational program design, online learning, or teaching

  • A record of success of operating in a team environment to achieve organizational goals

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and programs

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Experience in recruiting, evaluation, and development of professional or academic staff

  • Knowledge of unique needs of adult learners and the field of professional and continuing education

  • Dedication to increasing access to education to greater populations of adult learners, especially those from underserved populations
