The Special Projects & Investigations team is looking for a motivated, data savvy program manager to act as a force multiplier supporting our team's mitigation and prevention of fraud and abuse. This position will manage a portfolio of Gap prevention projects aimed at making it harder for bad actors to operate on our stores as well as internal team mechanisms. You will interact with partner teams and stakeholders in operations, product, risk, tech, and science roles in order to execute against your projects. An ideal candidate is highly flexible, a strong communicator, and demonstrates significant bias for action, and loves diving deep.

The Customer Trust (CT) organization's mission is to keep Amazon stores safe and trustworthy for our buyers, brands and selling partners, by enabling our selling partners to provide great CX while ensuring bad actors are kept out of our stores. The Special Projects & Investigations (SPI) team protects Amazon’s WW stores store by creating projects and programs focused on the detection of abuse at its earliest point and identifying the root causes, vulnerabilities or exploits to systematically address to prevent future abuse. Key job responsibilities

Complete risk analyses using complex data sets (SQL, Python, R etc.). • Use high-level judgment to own our most complex risk mitigation and prevention initiatives. • Identify gaps and risks in Amazon's current mechanisms and policies and recommend solutions to product/policy owning teams. • Use data and/or technical skills to discover new ways to scale risk signals resulting in the identification of abuse risk. • Break problems into manageable pieces, meticulously prioritizing, and delivering results in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment. • Conduct large scale deep dives to derive insights about abuse, identifying gaps and risk in Amazon's current mechanisms, systems, and policies. • Discover solutions and convey detailed technical knowledge (verbally, in writing, and via diagram) to engineering, legal, and program/product management teams

A day in the life

• Deep dive gap root causes and learn the mechanics, partner teams, and requirements.

• Propose and gain alignment on mitigation and prevention plan with partner team stakeholders.

• Launch, monitor and communicate with stakeholders about the progress of current mitigation and prevention.

• Influence stakeholders to adopt, integrate, or fix gaps in order to allow sunsetting of existing mitigations.

• Monitor reporting of established mechanisms and evaluate for effectiveness.

• Inspect metrics and anecdotes to find false positives and false negatives, then develop improvements to address misses.

• Listen, learn, engage, communicate, execute, analyze, and influence.

The Trust & Store Integrity team (TSI) is responsible for creating a trustworthy shopping experience across Amazon stores worldwide by protecting customers, brands, selling partners and Amazon from fraud, counterfeit, and abuse as well as empowering, providing world‐class support, and building loyalty with Amazon’s millions of selling partners. The Special Projects and Investigations (SPI) team within TSI designs and implements policies, tools and technology innovations to protect customers by identifying and preventing abuse worldwide. Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of program or project management experience

• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

• Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Experience handling confidential information - 5+ years of relevant experience in risk analysis and/or regulatory compliance. - Highly proficient in data analysis (SQL or experience with multi-terabyte and petabyte relational databases) or scripting (i.e. Python, R, MATLAB). - High level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate security and business risk to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences. - Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases. - Proven ability to deliver complex projects across multiple teams. - Excellent leadership, negotiation, teamwork, and collaboration skills. - Strong critical thinker with the vision to work both tactically and strategically. - Experience implementing repeatable processes and automation or standardization. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

• Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

• 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience - Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials - Experience working in fast paced e-commerce organizations. - Experience working within fraud, compliance, law enforcement, or intelligence organizations. - Experience in adjacent domain areas like network engineering, Infosec, software development for e-commerce, or work involving software for API's or web scraping. - Experience working with Threat Intelligence teams, threat modeling and familiarity with open source intelligence (OSINT). - Master’s degree in or practical experience with data science or machine learning. - Experience with AWS cloud solutions. - Experience in Data Sciences, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence. - CISSP Certification or experience in multiple CISSP knowledge areas - Demonstrated experience in areas such as digital forensics or internal investigations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
