Amazon Program Manager II, Bad Actor Disincentives in Seattle, Washington

This Program Manager role supports the Identity Trust (IT) team, a team embedded within the Bad Actor Disincentives (BAD) team. The team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse customers, or selling partners and Amazon. IT is looking for a passionate, organized, and results-oriented Program Manager to build and lead mechanisms that promote collaboration and accountability with partner teams across organizations and lead initiatives that improve efficiency of internal operational processes.

As a Program Manager you will own leadership-level goals and work cross-functionally with partner teams to drive those goals. You will be the business expert who advises leadership on trends and goal drivers by deep diving input metrics to root cause the impact on output metrics. You will work jointly with upstream teams that own critical input levers to those goals, highlighting gaps in the processes/models and influencing without authority to implement required fixes. You will partner with multiple teams to secure capacity for seller verification processes and set SLAs and success metrics to measure performance. You will engage with multiple business teams to keep a pulse on latest bad actor trends and identify opportunities to strengthen Identity Trust’s risk detection and risk mitigation efforts. Strong verbal and written communication, effective stakeholder management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous space will be critical.

In this role, you will drive improvements in internal operational processes that result in efficiency gains and timely risk prevention. You will regularly monitor and inspect metrics and work with the risk operations team to address deviations and anomalies. You will drive initiatives that improve the efficacy and efficiency of investigation processes. You will be responsible for creating and driving a governance framework around the risk team’s assets such as SOPs and enforcement reason codes. The candidate must be a self-starter, with strong attention to detail, capable of diving deep and able to multi-task effectively.

Key job responsibilities

As a Program Manager in Identity Trust, you will:

• Communicate program updates, goal status, lessons learned and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership both verbally and in writing. Routinely own or contribute to documents: Working Backwards, WBR’s/MBR’s/QBR’s, Program Updates etc.

• Extensively build trust with cross-organizational stakeholders. Use data to influence without authority and drive consensus at multiple levels of an organization.

• Create data-driven reports to quantify impact, exposure, and opportunities to deliver on team goals. Intermediate Excel skills are a minimum expectation (Intermediate SQL is a plus).

• Enable transparency and strategic alignment across teams and partners by providing communication and clear status of the initiatives you own.

• Analyze the key levers of the business to identify trends and proactively take action to improve efficiency and quality.

• Introduce new systems and procedures that drive defect elimination and improve operational efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
